Now based in Tokyo, Mike has always played in a wide variety of musical settings, constantly looking for new experiences on the band stand. After a brief stint studying in the Jazz Studies program at Vancouver's Capilano College, Mike soon became involved in the city's thriving music scene. During his time there, he performed alongside many seasoned professionals, among them Eddie Daniels, Chuck Isreals, and Don Thompson. He also recorded with the Chuck Isreal Nonet for a radio broadcast on Canada's national radio station (the CBC). But while establishing a career as a jazz trumpeter, Mike also decided to take full advantage his surroundings and worked his way into many circles, playing as a sideman in many pop and latin groups. The accumulation of these experiences over the years has served to polish Mike's skills and given him a keen sense of musicality. |

He started playing the alto saxophone at the age of 10 and quickly fell in love with the music of Charlie Parker. He studied jazz and frequented many jazz clubs in the New York area before starting his professional career at the age of 16. While playing in many jazz and R&B settings as a high school student, Joe continued to study and absorb the jazz language and while studying with many jazz luminaries such as Mark Vinci, Milt Hinton, Pat La Barbara, Nick Brignola and Frank Mantooth. As a college student, he continued to frequent the New York City jazz scene, going to countless jam sessions and forming the Joe Wagner quartet. |

ANDY BEVANJAZZ FUSIONhttp://www.andybevanmusic.com Andy Bevan was born in Perth and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. Read more... After initial studies on flute and piano, he pursued a performance degree on the tenor saxophone at the Adelaide College of Arts and Education. Following several years working as a professional musician in Australia, he traveled for a year and a half in South East Asia, absorbing the various cultures and musical traditions of lndonesia, Thailand, Nepal and India. Along with playing a wide range of woodwind instruments from saxophone to bansuri flute, his association with Australian aboriginal musicians inspired him to play the didjeridoo, the role of which he has expanded into previously unheard-of instrumental combinations. His distinctive sound and the array of colors he brings to any group have put him in great demand in a variety of situations. He now resides in Japan, actively performing a broad range of music from jazz and Brazilian to fusion and world music, including the modern world-music trio Tatopani, which has recorded and performed extensively over the past decade. |

Né le 17 juillet à Paris, et bellifontain d'adoption, dès l’âge de 4 ans, il débute le piano classique et devient à 16 ans un lauréat de concours - Un début plus que prometteur, qui l’invite très vite à la diversification de ses talents de musicien. Dès lors, il apprend à jouer beaucoup d’autres instruments, dont la flûte, la trompette et l’accordéon. Aujourd’hui, c'est en musicien, compositeur et chanteur professionnel accompli qu'il exerce son métier. En 1985, il prend la direction d'un complexe hôtelier à Vittel. Simultanément, il se constitue son propre groupe de jazz, et organise des concerts au sein même de son établissement hôtelier. Il poursuit son initiation et acquiert une solide expérience d’animateur. Le divertissement en milieu hôtelier devient sa vocation première. Aujourd’hui, au Japon, il est heureux d’offrir ses services dans de multiples domaines. Mais c’est surtout avec son accordéon et sa voix qu’il a l’occasion de se produire dans de nombreux concerts et programmes télévisés, il écrit, joue et chante ses musiques pour de multiples spots publicitaires mais chante également les grands standards de la chanson française. Doté d’une voix mélodieuse, emprunte de cette touche parisienne, Patrick Nugier est aussi un homme de scène et un chef d’orchestre qui sait produire tous types d'événements musicaux, concerts, live en direct, et dîners spectacles. Depuis 1970, il débute comme musicien au sein de l’équipe d’animation du Club Med, il joue notamment en France, en Espagne, aux Bahamas, en Guadeloupe. Entre deux saisons il a la chance, à Paris, de pouvoir accompagner un grand nombre de chanteurs. Il décide après quelques années de changer de métier car la vie au Club med lui donne la possibilité d’apprendre d’autres choses. C’est ainsi qu’il deviendra responsable de restaurants, coordinateur de l’équipe d’animation, relations publique et enfin directeur d’hôtel tout en gardant une place très importante à la musique, ce qui lui forge sa personnalité. Ayant déjà parcouru une vingtaine de pays depuis le début de sa carrière, il s'est aguerri aux métiers d'animateur au sein de stations balnéaires. |

In addition to studio work and composition, Andy Wulf has performed with Hino Terumasa, Nakamoto Mari, Moriyama Ryoko, Fukuyama Masaharu, aiko , among others. Andy Is also very active in the Japanese Big band scene, and is a member of the Moriya Junko Big Band, and the Caoba big band, as well as playing regularly with the Norio Maeda big band, the Tokyo netai Jazz Rakudan, and Eric Miyashiro's "EM" Band. |

At age 5 he gave his first piano recital and before entering high school he won over 10 classical piano competitions including the Arizona Yamaha Piano Competition. In high school he devloped a new passion for jazz and improvisation. He began working professionally in the Phoenix area from the age of 14, playing with the finest jazz musicians in the valley including Dennis Roland, Jesse Mcguire, Margo Reid, Dwight Killian, Dom Moio, and Fred Forney. He attended Arizona State University on a full jazz scholarship and studied under Chuck Mahronic. He has also studied privately with world class pianists such as Kenny Werner, Fred Hersch and Uri Caine and has performed all around the globe with the likes of Mark Dresser, Terrence Blanchard, Tony Malaby and Martin Denny. |

Read more... After studying Japanese at Sophia University on a fellowship from Yale, he moved to Tokyo in 1991. Since then, Jonathan has recorded three critically acclaimed CDs as leader of his own trio in addition to working as pianist in the bands of jazz greats such as the late Ray Brown, Lew Tabackin, Joe Lee Wilson and Eddie Henderson. Jonathanfs musicianship and diversity have led to concert and session work in other genres. He has performed and recorded with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Pops and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestras under the baton of Bob Sakuma, and played on recordings and concerts for enka star Itsuki Hiroshi. He is also musical director/pianist/hornist of the jazz world music group CANDELA, and has contributed compositions and arrangements to its albums. Jonathan's duo with CANDELA's leader, shakuhachi innovator Bruce Huebner has also toured Japan and Europe, and CANDELA has toured North America twice, first at the Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival and Joe's Pub in New York (June 2003), and again in 2004 to play at the Blue Note and record their second CD “RISE ABOVE.” Jonathan is also co-leader of the jazz quartet New York-Tokyo Connection (NYTC), which has toured and recorded in the US and Japan. Jonathanfs arrangements of Japanese traditional music and childrenfs songs have garnered acclaim and his big band arrangements are also starting to make a buzz in the US jazz education scene. He recently started his own 17-piece ensemble, The Tokyo Big Band. MASAYO Hokkaido-born Salsa & Latin jazz singer Masayo is one of the few Japanese singers specializing in the “son” genre. She has appeared in music festivals in Cuba, studied with Oscar Valdez (Irakere), and is friends with members the Buena Vista Social Club. She is also an accomplished lyricist, and very musical—a musician’s singer. |

At the age of 6 Davy got into a school music cursus where he started to learn classical guitar. After being graduated early in 90s he started his own bands Da Fonk System, Ça. Quickly from his local notoriety, he got sollicitation to play and arrange for recordings and lives for Squeegee, Djam & Fam and, Jimmy Cliff (Ricard Live Music Tour 1998). At the end of 90s he signed with Florent Prabel (Squeegee) a major contract with Polygram and Mercury. Right away together they found their own label-Tubbe Entertainment. By the mid-90s he started to Deejay from his hometown area and later in Paris (Palais de Tokyo, La Mezzanine de L'Alcazar etc.) and now in Tokyo. From 2001 he slided "behing the stage" to become the key person - artistic director, A&R for Pschent Music and its-2-million-seller compilation series called "Hotel Costes". Meanwhile he composed 5 albums (TV-BGM) for AXS music under the name of Baeckler. He has produced several remixes for Stephane Pompougnac, Malou, Hifiklub, Fortuna, Le Pivot, Stereo Lynch etc.He works hard now to get the opportunity to compose music for films. With Jean Moncaut (Tv producer) in 2005 Davy founded a new label Only Music in parallel of Pschent Music which the activity is the sound design, the production of original music for screens (tv, films, commercials, internet, etc.) He composed several opening themes for french tv program as Intérieurs, Change ta Chambre, and now Echo-Logis. That time they produced more than 10 premium compilations for the famous brand Hugo Boss France. He has been also consultant for a dutch label (Private Sound) which has produced an gorgeous audio book about Van Gogh. In 2006 one of his tracks called I Could be More Happy was used for a japanese TV ad. This track successfully got a buzz in Japan and logically invited him to release his japanese debut album Smiling Machine (Astromusic (Asei Kobayashi & King Records). Naturally offers from Japanese advertising companies on behalf of brands as Family mart and Nissin Chiken Ramen increased. He naturally moved to Tokyo early in 2008. Today the music catalogue of Only Music is about 400 tracks. He makes now music for Japanese customers while working for French companies as well. As a DJ he's resident at Maduro, Grand Hyatt Tokyo, at Rhythm Café in Shibuya and plays regularly at Velours Aoyama, Le Baron de Paris (Tokyo) and Loop (Daikanyama). Also illustrator, graphic designer (he designed the artwork of his first album, and of few vinyl releases) in 2009 summer he had his first exhibition called Nomiso held by A-bridge.Right now finalizing his 2nd album he works on different projects as a new band called THE2, a classical album of anthems remixed, a music project around Matsumoto Hitoshi etc. |
